Sisterhood Challenge.

“87% to 95% of the illnesses that plague us today are a direct result of our thought life. What we think about affects us physically and emotionally. It’s an epidemic of toxic emotions.”

“Change in your thinking is essential to detox the brain. Consciously controlling your thought life means not letting thoughts rampage through your mind. It means learning to engage interactively with every single thought that you have, and to analyse it before you decide either to accept or reject it.Dr Leaf.

I was recommended to view Dr Leaf’s material after my girlfriends Clarissa and Carly heard her at Hillsong Colour Conference a few weeks back.

Have you ever seen a woman who is at rest within her soul? She oozes gentleness, kindness, peace and a God-given joy. She opens her arms to people with delight. She is clothed with strength and dignity and laughs with no fear at the future like the one we read about in Proverbs 39.

I’m on an adventure friends. An Adventure to make conscious decisions to be this woman. It may sound methodical and programmed but I’m using “choices” rather than free flowing emotions and unpredictable life circumstances to dictate my character and inner peace.

So I write my list shyly and embark on my month journey using it as my mantra. It is an experiment to see if I feel the effects and have visible changes in me as a woman. My heart is to strip back layers so I become more Christ like and radiate His goodness.

Number 1. I choose not to complain in any circumstance but rather walk into situations with ease. I know I have the capacity to conquer and overcome because greater is He who lives in me.

Number 2. I choose to speak with Grace and goodness at all times. (Boy oh Boy am I writing this!). Words are very powerful and have the ability to turn the entire course of my life into a blazing flame of destruction. (James 3:6) and the ability to sow life and goodness for my days ahead.

Number 3. I will count my blessings, numbering them like our friend Ann Voskamp has taught. Living in the moment and being present, awake, seeing God’s gifts both large and small.

Number 4. I will observe the sabbath and enter into a day of rest each week rebelling against our culture which is resistant to respite.
Exodus 20:8 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Number 5. I choose not to worry. I will live in complete surrender to the Cross laying down concerns, future and my daily load. I will remain in Him, the vine of life.

Number 6. I will keep a short account of those I need to forgive. I will not close the lids of my eyes at night until I have done personal business with any offense that I may have encountered.

Number 7. I will laugh at my future without fear because I’m a daughter of the King. If I declare complete dependence on him He will lift me up and give me honor. James 4:10

My Friends, I do not underestimate the challenge set before me. I’m a sinner and will fall short-Grace will be required. I’m excited to see changes and see more of God and less of me.

The offer for you to join me is there? Wanna come?

If not stay tuned and I’ll let you know how it goes…
